This work has been published and presented at prominent international, national, and regional conferences, including the Audio Engineering Society (AES) and the Association for Technology in Music Instruction (ATMI). Recent projects include research on the effectiveness of active learning approaches for teaching math and science to audio production students. Fick’s research pursuits are in computer music, interactive systems, audio production, and the pedagogy of music technology. He is also an active audio engineer, having recorded classical, jazz, and popular music in live and studio contexts, audio for film, and dialogue for various commercial projects.ĭr. His works have been performed at international, national, and local events, including the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC), the International Horn Symposium, the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS), the College Music Society, and the American Colleges Dance Festival.
